W Abu Dhabi — the Hotel the Cars Drive Through

W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island is built directly into Yas Marina Circuit — literally. The hotel's two 12-storey towers are connected by a steel-and-glass grid-shell bridge that crosses the actual race track between Turns 13 and 14, meaning F1 cars drive underneath the building during every session. No other hotel on the Formula 1 calendar has this relationship with its own circuit.

The 499 rooms and suites are split across the two towers, one set within the circuit itself and the other in the marina — both with direct views of either the track or the water. Standard rooms run 54 square metres with floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony facing the grid-shell structure and marina; one-bedroom suites add a separated living area. Dining runs across three restaurants and three bars, including Pappas Taverna (Mediterranean), Brooklyn Chop House (steakhouse), and a rooftop scene split between the family-friendly SUN Deck pool and the adults-only WET Deck, which becomes an entertainment venue in its own right during race week.

For race weekend specifically, staying here comes with real, race-specific perks beyond the location: a Thursday pit-lane walk exclusive to hotel guests, and access to the post-race Yasalam concerts. During F1 week the WET Deck rooftop also runs its own party program (Bagatelle's F1 nights among them), and the hotel's Garden on Yas space has hosted its own headline takeovers during race week in past years.

This is, unambiguously, the most expensive way to stay near the circuit — you're paying for proximity that no other hotel can offer, not just for room quality. If budget is the primary constraint, this is the wrong pick; if being inside the circuit's own architecture during the season finale is the point, nothing else on Yas Island competes with it.
