The Main Grandstand sits directly opposite the team garages, running the length of the start-finish straight at Yas Marina Circuit. It is the single best-known vantage point at the track, and for a straightforward reason: you get the grid formation, the race start, every pit stop across the weekend, and the podium celebration, all from one seat.
The stand has four tiers. Main Premium and Main Premium Plus sit highest, with Premium Plus facing the podium directly — worth the upgrade if the finish matters more to you than the start. Seats in the lower-middle sections, roughly rows 60 to 68, line up almost exactly with the start line and still keep the podium in sight, with a big screen directly opposite for replays. It's one of the largest stands on the circuit, and the atmosphere reflects that — this is where the noise builds fastest when the lights go out.
Because Abu Dhabi is the season finale, the start here can carry more weight than a mid-season race — grid positions and first-corner incidents at Turn 1 have decided constructors' and drivers' championships before, and the Main Grandstand is the seat for watching that unfold in real time rather than piecing it together from a big screen elsewhere. The Main Oasis fan zone, the circuit's biggest, sits right next to the stand, so there's real food and drink variety within a short walk during the long gaps between sessions.
This is a covered stand, which matters more than it sounds at a twilight race — qualifying (Saturday, 19:30) and the race (Sunday, 18:30 start) both run in the twilight-to-night window, but you're seated through hot daytime sessions on Friday and Saturday afternoon before that. Bring sunscreen for the early sessions regardless of the roof; the sun angle changes through the day and shade coverage isn't uniform across every row.

Why it's special
There's a reason this is the grandstand people picture when they picture the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It's the only seat on the circuit where the start, the pit stops, and the podium are all genuinely visible without craning or relying on the big screen — most grandstands give you one of those three, this one gives you all three. For a season finale specifically, that matters more than usual: a title can be settled at Turn 1 or on the podium itself, and this is the stand built to watch either happen live. It isn't the cheapest seat at Yas Marina, and it doesn't need to justify itself with atmosphere alone — the sightline does the work.

What to avoid
Don't assume every seat in the stand has an unobstructed podium view — only the higher Premium Plus tier faces it directly; lower sections can have the podium at an angle behind supporting structure. Avoid booking without checking the exact section number against a current seating map, since the stand's four tiers have meaningfully different sightlines despite being sold under one grandstand name.
