F1's return to Mexico in 2015 came with one strange new addition: a section of track diverted straight through Foro Sol, a baseball stadium built inside the circuit in the 1990s. Nobody else on the calendar races through a stadium built for another sport entirely, and the noise it produces — every seat filled, every session, not just the race — is why Mexico City is consistently named one of the loudest weekends in F1.

The circuit itself carries real weight beyond the spectacle. It's named after Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez, Mexico's first F1 stars, both killed racing years apart — the track's own history is a genuine part of what makes race weekend here feel different. Add the highest altitude of any circuit on the calendar, and 2026's race weekend landing directly on top of the city's Día de Muertos Grand Parade — one of the biggest cultural weekends in Mexico, happening at the same time as the Grand Prix, not as a separate trip — and this is a genuinely unrepeatable version of an already distinctive race.
