How much does an Italian Grand Prix weekend cost?
What a real Monza weekend costs, by budget
Monza is unusual among F1 circuits for genuinely offering both ends of the spectrum: a General Admission Prato ticket that gets you into the park for roughly €50-100 a day, and a Grandstand 1 seat that's historically the most expensive reserved seat on the calendar. Most visitors also base themselves in Milan rather than Monza itself, so a real cost estimate has to account for a short daily train commute, not just a hotel bill.
Typical 3-night trip
US$1,916–US$2,405

2027 F1 ticket prices aren't published yet — the ticket portion of this total uses 2026 pricing as the closest real reference point, carried forward until Monza confirms 2027 prices.

Getting around, cheaply
Milan's ATM network (metro, trams, buses) covers the city without a car, and race-day travel to Monza works by taking a regular train from central Milan to Monza station, then a short shuttle bus to the circuit. A single ATM urban ticket costs €2.20 (90 minutes across metro/tram/bus); for race day, a combined train-plus-shuttle ticket to Monza runs around €10, or the shuttle alone is €5 booked online in advance versus €6 at the gate.
A local money-saving trick
Milan's aperitivo custom is the city's best-value eating hack — buy one drink (typically €8–10) between roughly 6 and 9pm and many bars include an all-you-can-eat buffet of pasta, cold cuts, and vegetables with it, effectively covering a light dinner. This is a genuine local practice, not a tourist gimmick, worth timing a meal around.
What about flights?
Roughly US$100–US$564 round-trip, economy, if you're flying from within Europe.
Milan is served by two airports — Malpensa (MXP) for most long-haul and international flights, and Linate (LIN) for many short-haul European routes, both with a straightforward transfer into the city. Tell the Planner where you're starting from for a real number on your actual route.
