How much does a Sepang weekend cost?
Sepang's hotel stock and cost of living are genuinely cheap by international standards — Kuala Lumpur is one of the more affordable major host cities on the calendar. The real open question for this race isn't the hotel or the food, it's the ticket: F1 hasn't published 2026 pricing for this relocated race yet, so the numbers below cover everything we can price honestly right now, and flag clearly what we can't.
Typical 3-night trip
$204–$378
A 3–4 star hotel, food and local transport for 3 nights. Excludes tickets — pricing not yet announced by F1 — and flights, see why ↓

Getting around, cheaply
This range covers Kuala Lumpur's Rapid KL train and bus network — the LRT/MRT connects most of the city, and a direct KLIA Ekspres/Transit ride reaches Sepang from KL Sentral. If you're moving around for more than a day, the Rapid Kembara Pass (RM45 for tourists, unlimited LRT/MRT/monorail/bus rides) beats paying per trip.
A local money-saving trick
This range covers hawker-stall and casual local dining, not restaurant meals — Kuala Lumpur is genuinely cheap by Southeast Asian standards. Order nasi campur (economy rice) at a hawker stall for around RM6–10 a plate — a full meal with rice, meat, and vegetables, and the real local budget move.
What about flights?
Roughly $101–$1,139 round-trip, economy, if you're traveling from Asia Pacific.
Flying in from further afield — Europe, the Americas — costs meaningfully more, so we're not folding every region into one misleading blended number here. Tell the Planner where you're starting from and it'll give you a real range for your actual route.

Every number above is real and free — the pack doesn't unlock more prices, it unlocks the decision. Given your budget, which hotel area we'd actually pick for a first Sepang trip and why, plus the booking-timing detail that matters most for a race weekend with unusually high pent-up demand. Ticket-tier comparison lives in the Ticket Guide once 2026 pricing is published.
