How should I spend the daytime during a Singapore GP weekend?
Real daytime, thanks to the night race
Most Grand Prix cities force a trade-off between racing and sightseeing. Singapore's night-race format genuinely doesn't, sessions run into the evening, which leaves real daytime for the city itself.
Sentosa is a genuine day trip, an actual island you travel to and spend hours on. Marina Bay Waterfront Walk and Gardens by the Bay are both a short walk or one MRT stop from the circuit, worth folding into the same day as a session rather than treating as separate outings.

Sentosa Island — a real day trip before race night
Beaches, cable cars, and Universal Studios, genuinely doable before an evening session thanks to the night race format
Most Grand Prix cities require a real trade-off between racing and sightseeing, a beach day and a race day rarely fit in the same 24 hours. Singapore's night race format changes that math entirely: with sessions starting well into the afternoon or evening, Sentosa's beaches, cable car, and theme park are all genuinely doable before heading to the circuit, not a competing claim on your time. I think that's worth spelling out explicitly, because a visitor used to a normal daytime Grand Prix might not realise how much daytime is actually available here.

Worth knowing
- —Take the cable car one direction and the boardwalk or Sentosa Express the other, you get the harbour views without paying twice for the return trip.
- —Plan your Sentosa visit to wrap by early evening if you have a race session that day, the cable car's last boarding is 9:30pm and getting back to the circuit needs buffer time.

Every attraction, hours, and price above is free. The pack adds the actual sequence we'd run — which day to do Sentosa, when to time Gardens' evening light show around your session, and the one combination that genuinely doesn't fit in a single day, so you don't find that out the hard way.
